Dr. Thomas Sattler, Director of Education and Program Development of the SeniorFITness™ Division of Alliance Rehab in Oak Brook, has helped countless seniors improve their quality of life by applying exercise guidelines for healthy aging. His philosophy and proactive approach to life has been significantly influenced by his 40 years as a university educator, and his time spent coordinating the training and supervision of the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team and Chicago Cubs baseball team. Dr. Sattler retired from teaching in 2005 and began his work in the area of senior wellness, with an emphasis on the components that make up a healthy lifestyle for older adults.

At Alliance Rehab, Dr. Sattler chairs the program’s Best Practices Standards, facilitates the Senior FITness Exercises Specialist Certification, leads the Wellness Consulting Services and serves as the speaker for motivational presentations.

He has been on the review board of the American College of Sports Medicine and makes numerous films and presentations on issues relating to health & fitness.  His research interests include management and marketing of fitness programs and programs which are designed for the aged.
