Illinois State Competition
All participants will receive an event T-shirt, Participant Ribbon and a Certificate of Accomplishment. The Top-3 men & women will be awarded event trophies.
There will be a random selection to determine the order of events for each participant.
Event Description:
Incline Treadmill Jog – The quickest time in reaching 0.5 miles (1/2-mile) on a treadmill set at an incline of 8.
Elliptical Trot – The greatest distance traveled in 5 minutes with the resistance set at 80% of the machine’s maximum. (70% for women).
Incline DB Curl – Set the incline bench to a 45° angle. Record the most continuous repetitions using 30lb dumbbells (15lbs. for women). Start position is having the arms hanging straight down (palms facing backward-knuckles facing forward). Turn the hands so that the palms face forward and curl the weight to the top position with the hand above the shoulders and return. Shoulder blades must remain on the bench with not rocking or swinging of the weights. (No stopping or resting)
DB Overhead Press – Set the incline bench to a 90° angle. Record the most continuous repetitions using 40lb dumbbells (20lbs. for women). Start position is having the hands at shoulder level with palms forward. Press the weight overhead to full extension and return. (No stopping or resting)
Push-Ups – The most continuous push-ups (standard-style) performed to a depth where the upper arm is parallel to the ground within a maximum time-limit of 2-minutes. (No stopping or resting)
AB-Plank (Replaces the sit-up test) – The greatest amount of time recorded in a standard plank position. (Body to remain straight - No pike or bowing). [Maximum 3 minutes]
Sit & Reach – This standard stretch test assesses the flexibility of the low back, hamstrings and calves. With one hand directly on top of the other, the participant reaches forward as far as possible and holds the reach for 5 full seconds. The participant gets three attempts and the furthest reach will be recorded. (The knees must not bend and no lunging is allowed).
