World Famous Historian, David P. Webster is from Irvine, Scotland. As Secretary General of the World Federation of Heavy Events, David has a passion for and knowledge of the world's highest standards of heavyweight sports that has placed him in great demand worldwide. From 1990 to 1995, David was Chairman of the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland and in 1998 he held the title of Chief of Mission for the Commonwealth Games in Malaysia. In 1955 in recognition of his many years of work with the Commonwealth, Her Majesty the Queen of England bestowed upon him the honour of Order of the British Empire.
He has organized and judged Mr. Britain and Mr. Universe contests and worked for Arnold Schwarzenegger on a yearly basis at strength challenges in the United States. David has participated in hundreds of TV and radio programs around the world, including scripting and narrating on national networks. He was involved with Steven Speilberg's film, Gladiator, acting on behalf of several strongmen. David was also a builder of heavyweight competitions to include the many events found in modern Games: the caber toss, weight for distance, weight for height, the Farmers walk, and, the Canadian
favourite, the sheaf toss. David P. Webster officiates at hundreds of sporting events all over the world, and he has greatly influenced strength sports globally.
